Week 318 ( 25th Sep - 1st Oct 2009 )
King Henry and Princess move to Tigers’ Roars Camp
At this stage of their lives, given that they have had some practice, it is necessary to ascertain whether or not King Henry and Princess are able to hunt alone and to that end they need to be relocated to the hunting camp…..without mummy.
In preparation for sending Princess and King Henry into Tigers’ Roars alone, I invited Madonna and TigerWoods into the Quarantine Camp. TigerWoods mucked about a bit sniffing here and there and whilst he was doing so King Henry hurried over with every intention of joining his mother and I had to quickly close the gate before he could combine the action with the intention. After opening and closing the gate for what seemed like an eternity TW eventually hustled through and joined Madonna. King Henry then paced the Quarantine Camp’s fence wandering how he could get in and Princess lay down at the gate. King Henry wasn’t very happy about being separated from his mum and many times he walked over to her fence and called her, but she totally ignored him.
A day or so later, as I arrived at the Mini Camp’s gate I noticed that both King Henry and Princess had left their mother and were sitting at the gate to the Ravine Camp. I opened the gate for the duo and without a second thought King Henry hoped through. Princess was a little more hesitant but eventually followed her brother. They wandered around snuffling for something interesting. King Henry found some appealing smells and I was treated to some flemmen. Later the same afternoon; King Henry was lying at the gate to the rest of the Ravine camp staring into the bushes hoping and wishing that someone would come out and play. Nobody came and he went in search of Princess who was hiding from the wind in the midst of a bush. Although they traipsed into the Mini Camp without much fuss; Both King Henry and Princess flatly refused even to entertain the idea of going into Tigers’ Roars and waltzed around the Mini Camp ignoring the open gate to the big, wild yonder.
The following morning, King Henry and Princess still had no intention of crossing into Tigers’ Roars and eventually I was forced to bring in a bribe. Placed in a strategic position the food soon drew the cub’s attention. King Henry then had no compunction in hopping through the gate. Princess remained unconvinced. Her mind was made up for her when King Henry began eating. In the afternoon King Henry was at the main gate to Tigers’ Roars howling for his mother.
